Due to a recent crackdown by Thai immigration authorities, all universities in Thailand are now required to report students who fail to attend their courses—whether online or in person. If you have missed classes or have not contacted your university regarding your attendance, your visa may already have been cancelled without prior notice. Visa Support Thailand cannot be held liable for any overstay fines or penalties resulting from non-compliance with these requirements.

Do I need to live in Chiang Mai to obtain an ED visa?

How long does the process take?
After you have made payment, it takes about 7 working days to receive the document from university from the University or can do it in 1 to 3 days for (fast-track extra charge).
What is the difference between an education visa from a University / Muay Thai school / language school in Thailand?
The difference is the immigration process. If education visa from a language school or Muay Thai school you need to go to immigration every 3 months for attention to the visa. With the education visa from a university, you can receive up to 15 months and renew with this program for up to 2 or 3 years.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price includes all immigration fees, books, and University fees for the entire 15 months.
How many years can I extend the Ed Visa from a University?
You can stay 2 or 3 years
What documents do I need to give you?
We need a picture of every page of your passport that has information on it, including 1 passport picture, telephone number, email, and payment for registering with the university. We can get this when you come to our office in person.
How do I get started?
We need at least 80% of the payment to start the process. You can do this by Thai bank transfer or come into our office and pay cash directly. We do not accept credit cards.
How much is the education visa?

Can I apply from another country?
Yes, We would need to receive a bank transfer of at least 80% of cost.
Can I obtain an ED visa if I come here on a visa exemption on arrival?
Yes, but it depends on your passport country.
Can I leave the country with this visa and come back?
You will need to purchase a multiple-entry stamp or re-entry stamp at the airport before departure.
Do I need to do a border run?
We can arrange this for you, go and come back, please ask us for details.
Process:
Step 1
After payment, whether you come in person or send by bank transfer, we submit application to the university with payment.

Step 2
The university in return gives us a letter to submit to immigration (1 or 2 days process). We then submit that letter to immigration with fees and immigration gives us an appointment to attention the visa in about 3 days. Total 5 to 6 days.
Note: We need to submit your passport to immigration with letter from university, copies of passport and application forms, as soon as you arrive in Chiang Mai bring your passport to our office.
Note : Please catch an early flight or arrive by bus early morning.
Our office opens at 9am you are welcome to join us for coffee on us.
Step 3
Please drop passport at our office before 11 am for best results.
Step 4
Now go to your hotel / hostel and the rest.
Step 5
The next day meet with our staff at immigration 2nd floor Central Festival shopping mall at 10AM
Step 6
You will receive your first 90 day visa stamp. If you come from an education visa you will receive 1 year stamp or 6 months’ stamp.
Step 7
Come to our office and receive instructions on how to log into classes, and answer any questions.

Then you can catch your flight and or bus back to your province.
Step 8
If coming from a tourist visa, come back to see us in about 45 days and receive a stamp for 1 year.
