90-Day Reporting in Thailand: A Practical TM47 Preparation Guide

The 90-day report is an address notification for an applicable continuous stay in Thailand. It is separate from an application to extend permission to stay, so keep the two tasks on different calendar entries.

Find the record that establishes your next step

Start with the latest entry record and any existing reporting receipt. Check the next reporting date and the method available for your circumstances. If the records seem inconsistent, ask immigration to confirm the date before relying on your own calculation.

Choose a submission method early

Official guidance describes different reporting channels. Check the current conditions for the channel you intend to use; online, postal and in-person instructions should not be treated as identical. Allow time for a rejected online submission or missing item to be resolved.

Prepare a reporting folder

  • Passport details and latest entry record.
  • Current permission and residence details.
  • Previous reporting confirmation where applicable.
  • The documents required for the chosen channel.
  • Submission reference and final result.

Use consistent spelling for the address and passport information. Keep a copy of what you submitted so you can answer a query without reconstructing the file.

Keep the final confirmation

A submission message is different from an accepted report. Check the result and retain the receipt or confirmation with the next reporting date. Add a preparation reminder in advance of that date rather than only a reminder on the final day.

Frequently asked questions

Does TM47 extend my visa?

No. It does not grant a longer permission to stay.

Can a residence notification replace a 90-day report?

Do not assume so. TM30 accommodation notification and TM47 reporting are separate procedures.
