Permanent-residence application notices need to be read by their actual filing dates. The year named in a quota announcement is not always the calendar year in which applications are accepted.
A verified 2026 example
An official immigration notice for the B.E. 2568 quota identifies an announcement dated February 26, B.E. 2569, and an application period of March 9–April 3, 2026. It lists up to 100 applicants per nationality and 50 stateless applicants. Those are the dates and figures in that particular notice.
Do not treat the old window as currently open
The March–April 2026 period has passed by this guide’s review date. It does not establish a new October intake or the dates of a later round. Check the next official announcement instead of reusing a 2025 article or changing the year in an old timetable.
Separate intake dates from eligibility
An open filing period does not prove an applicant qualifies. Request the current category-specific requirements, evidence list and place of submission from the relevant immigration authority. A long-validity visa should not be described as permanent residence.
Prepare an intake tracking sheet
- The quota year stated in the notice.
- The announcement’s issue date.
- The actual opening and closing dates.
- The application category and eligibility questions.
- The required documents and responsible office.
Use the period before an announced round to identify documents that take time to obtain. Confirm issue-date limits before ordering certificates so preparation does not result in documents that are already too old when filing begins.
Frequently asked questions
Does a notice titled B.E. 2568 necessarily mean filing occurred in 2025?
No. Read the filing dates in the notice; the verified example names a March–April 2026 period.
Does a quota guarantee a place?
No. The authority still assesses eligibility and the application. The notice is not an individual approval.
