Choosing a Visa Agent in Chiang Mai: Questions That Make a Quote Clear

A useful visa-service quote describes the work you are buying, the procedure it supports and the responsibilities that remain with you. Compare that scope before comparing headline prices.

Describe your case before asking for a price

Provide your current visa, permission end date and intended purpose. Say whether you need an initial application, change of status, extension, report or re-entry permit. Two quotes may differ because the providers are pricing different tasks.

Ask for a written scope

  • The exact procedure and handling authority.
  • Documents the provider will prepare or coordinate.
  • Documents you must obtain yourself.
  • Required personal attendance and appointments.
  • Service charges, government fees and other exclusions.
  • Payment, cancellation and refund terms.

For example, “document review” may mean checking a file you assembled. “School enrollment coordination” is a different service. Ask the provider to name the deliverables rather than assuming either phrase includes every step.

Check claims against the authority’s role

Visa and extension decisions belong to the responsible authorities. Ask how the agent handles further-document requests and how you will receive copies of submissions and results. A claim of guaranteed approval should not replace an explanation of the procedure.

Keep control of your records

Ask when an original passport is needed, how it will be held and when it will be returned. Keep the written service agreement and copies of important documents. Request a clear record of any payment and the procedure it covers.

Frequently asked questions

Is the cheapest quote necessarily the best comparison?

Compare the same procedure, document scope and exclusions first. Different scopes can produce misleading price comparisons.

Can an agent remove official eligibility requirements?

No. The service should help you understand and prepare for the applicable process, not replace the authority’s requirements.
