TM30 and TM47: Which Thailand Address Notification Are You Dealing With?

TM30 and TM47 both concern address information, but they describe different procedures. Identifying which one is being requested prevents a residence document from being mistaken for a completed 90-day report.

TM30 concerns accommodation notification

The official residence-notification guidance describes responsibilities for accommodation providers such as house owners, possessors and hotel managers. If you move into accommodation, ask the responsible provider how the notification is handled and how to obtain the relevant evidence.

TM47 concerns the applicable 90-day report

TM47 is the reporting process for an applicable continuous stay. Keep the reporting receipt and next reporting date separate from accommodation paperwork. A document headed TM30 should not be labelled “90-day report” in your records.

Neither is an extension decision

An extension of stay concerns how long you may remain. Address notifications do not themselves grant that extra time. Keep the current permission stamp alongside, rather than inside, the address-reporting calendar entry.

Organise three labelled folders

  • Accommodation: residence details and TM30 evidence.
  • Reporting: TM47 submissions and accepted confirmations.
  • Permission: visa, entry and extension records.

For example, a tenant receiving a new accommodation-notification receipt should still check the separate 90-day reporting date. Receiving one document does not establish that all immigration administration is complete.

Frequently asked questions

Does the landlord’s report complete my TM47?

No. Check the applicable 90-day reporting procedure separately.

Which document should I show when asking for help?

Show the actual receipt or record and explain the task you are trying to complete. The form number and dates help identify the issue.
